


A Proven Trial Attorney, Mediator, and Judicial Leader Serving Nevada’s Courts with Experience and Integrity
Prior to taking the bench, Judge Clark Newberry was an experienced trial attorney and mediator. She was admitted to practice law in the State of Nevada and California; U.S. District Court, District of Nevada; United States District Court, Southern District of California; the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States of America. She served as a mediator for the State of Nevada Foreclosure Mediation Program from 2009 to 2017, and the successor program administered by the Eighth Judicial District Court from 2017 until she was elected to serve the Eighth Judicial District Court in Department 21. Judge Clark Newberry also served as a mediator for the United States Bankruptcy Court, District of Nevada from 2015-2019, and as a private arbitrator and mediator at the request of private parties. Throughout her legal career, she dedicated a significant amount of time to pro-bono work with the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada and Nevada Legal Services, and frequently provided education to various professional organizations and attorneys from across the country.
Judge Clark Newberry is one of the few judges with law enforcement, mediator and civil trial experience. She has dedicated her professional life to helping others with her unique understanding and service to the entire justice system on the whole. Currently she is assigned a split criminal and civil calendar, and is the Presiding Judge over the Civil Division of the Eighth Judicial District Court and manages the Case Reassignment Calendar as well as many other administrative duties on behalf of the Court. Since taking the bench, Judge Clark Newberry continues to serve in leadership roles, having been appointed to serve on the 8th Judicial District Court Rules Committee, Education Committee, and Legislative Committee. She also was the catalyst to forming the Med Mal Court and was appointed to serve on the statewide Commission to Study Best Practices for Virtual Advocacy in Nevada’s Courts.
